hey there. here is a rough draft of what i am working on. kinda psychadelic. i gotta work on the lettering. dont worry, it will be a lot neater. remember, anything can change. let me know what you do and dont like and i will work from there to refine it more. another option is to have the words "red apples" in the fro. that would be really psychadellic, but i just dont know if you want to go that route. again, anything can change. look it over, talk to your friends etc. let me know and i will keep working on it.

intro

hey ray, so here are some of the concepts i've been thinking about. keep in mind all of these are sketches and if you don't like any of them don't worry! we can totally work up some other ideas together. this is just a kind of start to get you thinking about what direction you want to go in. there are three concepts i posted here...let me know what speaks to you and if/when you wanna talk etc. please remember YOU are the client so don't feel that stating your honest opinion or wanting to try something different is asking too much...cause it's not!

they kinda go in order of my fav to least fave....here you go!

this is sort of my favorite concept so far. i was trying really hard to stay away from any apple imagery at all because t seems so obvious and easy. so i started to think about the stickers they put on apples. i'm really into retro design so i thought it'd be a cool concept to have the logo sort of look like one of those old school stickers. i would draw those old numbers and letters to give it that authentic feel too. in some of the sketches i also tried to make the "sticker" resemble a record, just to sort of tie the whole idea together.

i think this would be cool because the retro concept can go further then just the logo....it can expand to the website, packaging, etc. it's an idea that you can play with a lot and can come up with a lot of different things in the future.

these are some type treatments i was working on, just having fun, trying different things. this kind of approach can be very modern and sharp if that is the feel you are going for. so far i'm not in love with any of them but it'd be cool to find a good solution using only type.

3. i remember you said you were reading a book about marketing and how having an animal in your logo sells...not my style, but i decided to try the logo with a man and do a little modern take off of this surrealist painting by magritte...this concept could definitely be pushed. it definitely has potential to be really fun and light-hearted. dont know why but the colors are all wrong in the image..internet is being weird.
